This is the coolest guy I have ever seen!
On Friday night Karen and I went to my dad's house for dinner. My grandma came too. After dinner we all went to Temple Beth El for shabbat services. This Friday they had a Rock "N Soul Shabbat, with a band playing and singing. Everyone also had noise makers and shakers to rock out. It was cool, but a different experience for Karen who is used to a Chabad Shabbat.
This is really cool. A great way to get people to take the stairs and maybe even get a little bit more exercise.

Karen and I started playing a game called Geocaching. Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache. You actually don't even need to use a GPS device as you can get a general area where the cache is hidden and use hints to find the hidden cache. Once you find the hidden cache you sign the log and replace it for the next person to find.
Sometimes in caches you will find a Travel Bug. A Travel Bug is a trackable tag that someone has hidden in a cache that gets moved from cache to cache by new finders. You can track a Travel Bug online and see how far and how many interesting places it has traveled to. You may also find little goodies and trinkets in a cache. These can be little toys, pens, necklaces, coins, whatever will fit inside a cache. The basic cache rule of thumb is if you take a trinket, replace it with another one. Geocachers also practice CITO - Cache In, Trash Out which is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. The basic concept is you always leave a hidden cache site cleaner then you found it. So not only are you playing a game, but you are making a difference in the world by keeping it cleaner. Well now that you Muggles (a non-geocacher) know a little bit more about Geocaching, you will understand my upcoming posts and pictures a little better and wont be thinking, "What are those two doing sneaking around the bushes for?" You can learn more or sign up to geocache yourself at www.geocaching.com
